Is it coming home? UEFA Euro 2020 ends Sunday with England hosting Italy

Italy (+230) vs. England (+150), draw (+195), 3 p.m. EDT (ESPN and fubo.TV)

It has been a long time since England has played in any final.

In fact, this will only be the second one the Three Lions play in, with the first all the way back in 1966. England famously won that contest 4-2 in extra time over Germany, leading to the chant that still reverberates any time the two teams play: "Two World Wars and one World Cup."

Today, though, it is not the Germans (which England already dispatched 2-0 on the way to the UEFA Euro 2020 Final), but a strong Italian side that is making its first appearance in a final since the disaster of 2012. On that day, Spain finished its triumvirate of trophies (EURO 2008, 2010 World Cup, EURO 2012) with a 4-0 destruction and place itself as the best international team of all time.

I have said this a lot during this tournament, but this has the potential to be the best match of the lot. After watching the borefest four-week Copa America, this EURO 2020 has proven to be the exact opposite, with upsets, extra time, penalties, and all manner of excitement.

Today's game is a toss-up, but I think the football is going to be coming home at the end of the day, as England wins and puts itself in position to head into the 2022 World Cup as the favorite as well.
