La Liga title will stay in Madrid, but at which club?

It all comes down to this.

In one of the very few leagues around Europe with final day drama at the top of the table, Atlético Madrid goes into the day knowing a victory will clinch its 11th La Liga crown, and only its second since 1997 (2013-14).

But here is the deal: If Diego Simeone’s side loses or draws, it opens the title up for Real Madrid, which is hosting a Villarreal side trying to make Europe in the league (they sit seventh but a win could see them jump up to fifth) or through the UEFA Europa League Final Wednesday against Manchester United: a victory in Gdansk would see the Yellow Submarine make it into the Champions League next season.

There is all kinds of intrigue here.

I am going to pick both the Madrid teams to win today, meaning Atléti would hoist the trophy. But I also think that the match against Valladolid, which is fighting to stay in the league, could be tricky.

I would have more confidence in Real Madrid.
