Will Arsenal make it four for four for Premier League teams in European finals?

Three Premier League teams have already booked their places in the two UEFA European cup finals.

Manchester City will face Chelsea in the second all-English Champions League final in three years, while Manchester United has its reservations already set for Gdansk and the Europa League Final, after a 6-2 destruction of Roma last Thursday in the first leg of the semifinals.

Yes, the two teams have to play the second leg today in Rome, but the Italian side has a whole starting XI injured right now, and if United scores one goal today, Roma would need to score five.

So that leaves us with the other game today.

Arsenal currently sits in ninth place in the Premier League table, and the two teams ahead of it and one team below it all have games in hand. It is very conceivable that the Gunners finish the season in the bottom half of the table, which would be a disaster.

Unless they win the Europa League.

That is a lot of eggs in one basket. It worked in 2017 for Manchester United, but it is a risky play, especially with the opponent they face today: Villarreal.

The Spanish side has the 2-1 aggregate lead, and would advance with a win, draw, or one goal loss in which they scored two goals or more.

Unai Emery would like nothing more than to knock his old team out of the cup, and bring his new one to a final.
