Battle for Northwest finishes off MLS Week 1 schedule

The opening weekend of the MLS season is nearly in the books.

But there is one late night contest on the docket, and it is a rivalry: Vancouver wil play host to Portland.

Portland is the team here that is high up the futures boards, and also won the MLS Is Back Cup last August; as for the Whitecaps, the outlook is not as bright, with them near or at the bottom of the predictions for the Western Conference.

The Timbers are clearly the better team, but that has not always meant a win on opening weekend: see the various draws and plus money wins.

But that might not be the case here.

I like Portland, and with the over 1.5 goal line for Portland so high (-150), will take a shot on the over 2.75 goals and hope for an offensive contest.
