For all the cups Manchester City has won with all its new billions spent, there is one tournament the Cityzens have never been able to crack.

Pep Guardiola has built some juggernaut sides in his three stops, but has just two Champions League titles to his name, won in 2009 and 2011 in Lionel Messi’s prime.

In fact, Manchester City has only been to the semifinals once in this cup, and that was back in 2016 under Manuel Pelligrini. Since then, it has been Round of 16 and Quarterfinal heartbreak for the Cityzens, even as heavy favorites multiple times.
