Nicaragua Primera Liga Clausura Playoffs: Miller picks Deportivo Walter Ferreti vs ART Municipal Jalapa

In the first half of the Nicaraguan Primera Division season (the Apertura), Deportivo Walter Ferreti finished on top of the table, only to fall in penalties (4-4, 5-3 on penalties) to Managua FC.

But fourth-seeded Walter Ferreti gets another chance to win a trophy starting Wednesday night, as the Clausura playoffs begin. The club will host fifth-seeded ART Municipal Jalapa in the late match.

While Jalapa won the last meeting 2-0 on March 21, that is its only win over Walter Ferreti in eight matches, dating back to 2018. The two teams come into the game in opposite form as well, with Walter Ferreti winning four of five (allowing just one goal), and Jalapa winless in five (scoring just two goals).

The play here looks to be a home win to nil, with Walter Ferreti getting another crack at Managua FC this weekend in the two-legged semifinals.
