Diriangen tries to keep pace at near top of Nicaragua Primera Division, but have to get through Deportivo Walter Ferreti — Miller has more

Diriangen has won two straight against Walter Ferreti since October, both on the road.

With the top two teams in Nicaragua facing off Wednesday night, there is a big opportunity for Diriangen FC to take advantage.

The club sits in third place, four points behind Managua FC and two behind Real Esteli. But a win over Deportivo Walter Ferreti will surely shake up the standings.

Walter Ferreti comes in off a 7-0 demolition job last weekend over Chinandega, and will want to keep the goals flowing. But Diriangen has been stingy on defense this season (six goals allowed in 12 matches), especially at home, where it has allowed just two goals.

Diriangen has won two straight against Walter Ferreti since October, both on the road. With the match Wednesday night at home, look for Diriangen to get the three points, and depending on the result of the other match, pull to within a point off the top of the table.
