Soccer: Miller covers Premier League action - Tottenham v Brighton & Hove Albion, also picks Hamburger SV v RB Leipzig & Ajax v Vitesse

This looks like the perfect spot for Tottenham to pick up some points

Does anybody want to finish in the top four of the Premier League?

Chelsea was the latest team to falter Monday, leaving the door open to the other three squads fighting to finish in the UEFA Champions League spots.

Tuesday, it is Tottenham’s turn to put some distance between it and the trailing pack. The Hotspurs sit third in the Premier League table, and can open up a four-point gap to fifth place Arsenal, and a six-point cushion to Manchester United.

Their opponent, Brighton & Hove Albion, has not scored a goal in over a month. The Seagulls are coming off a 0-0 draw against Wolverhampton, which was their first point in the Premier League since March 9.

This looks like the perfect spot for Tottenham to pick up some points.

Hamburger SV has just one win in seven matches mostly against second division clubs, while RasenBallsport Leipzig has five wins in a row, and is heading to next season’s UEFA Champions League.

This Leipzig project continues to gain steam, and a win today would put Leipzig into the 2019 DFB Pokal final.

In Amsterdam, Ajax will continue its quest for the Eredivisie title. This season is shaping up to be one of the best in over two decades, with a Champions League semifinal on the horizon next week. But with three matches to go, Ajax is even on points with PSV, and cannot afford to slip up at any point.

Ajax beat Vitesse 4-0 on the road in September.
