Soccer: Billion dollar day for Tottenham as they face Crystal Palace, Manchester City v Cardiff City, and many more picks from Miller

Tottenham vs. Crystal Palace, Chelsea vs. Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City vs. Cardiff City, PSG vs. Nantes, Emmen vs. Ajax

Wednesday is all about the Tottenham Hotspurs, and the new billion dollar stadium that will finally host a Premier League match after half a year of delays.

The stadium, which was built to host bigger events than Tottenham’s league matches (NFL games, Super Bowls, UEFA Champions League finals, etc.), will get the full royal treatment today, with both NBC Sports and the English networks covering the opening ceremonies before Spurs take on Crystal Palace in a crucial top four contest.

Due to Manchester United’s ineptitude Tuesday, Tottenham, and Chelsea (which plays at he same time), can both jump the Red Devils.

This is a tricky spot for Tottenham, though. It has not won since Harry Kane returned from injury, and there will be all kinds of pressure on the Spurs to win in their new home. Can emotion carry the day?

Chelsea has fond ways to win of late, despite not playing well. The Blues are at home Wednesday against Brighton & Hove Albion, which is slowly falling down the table dangerously close to the relegation battle. Chelsea should win here at home.

Cardiff City was robbed at the weekend, in a 2-1 loss to Chelsea. An offside goal and two non-penalty calls helped hand Chelsea a late win. The Bluebirds now have to go to the Etihad and take on Manchester City, which can jump back into first place in the Premier League table with a win.

Even without Sergio Aguero, the Citizens should be up for this match. With the whole of the world behind the team (except for a small area of Northwest England), Manchester City could post a big result here.

In the Coupe de France, PSG saw second place Lyon lose yesterday, and has the path to another piece of domestic silverware clear if it can beat a Nantes team that sits in 15th place in Ligue 1 (43 points behind). If PSG plays its strongest lineup, this should be straightforward. PSG has won 15 straight games against Nantes.

Ajax can jump PSV into first place in the Eredivisie with a win over 17th place Emmen. The teams have only played three times, with all three Ajax wins. The last two matches, including August of 2018, have been 5-0 wins.
