Soccer: Round 2 of Euro 2020 quals begin and Miller delivers picks

Heavyweights vs. Minnows

With the first round of UEFA Euro 2020 qualification over, the next three days will bring us round two of action, before everyone disbands back to their club teams for the matches next weekend.

Sunday will see the teams from Thursday in action, and that was one of the better days of betting in a long time. Hopefully, today can come close to replicating that.

There are 211 countries that make up the FIFA rankings. If you scroll all the way down to page five, you will find that San Marino sits in dead last, at 211 in the world. The country has played 154 times in its history, and has lost 149 times, with one win ever (1-0 over Liechtenstein in 2004). Most of the players on the team have normal jobs during the day to pay the bills.

Sunday, San Marino gets to take on Scotland, which is ranked 40th but comes in off an embarrassing 3-0 loss Thursday to Kazakhstan. There is no way that Scotland plays as poorly as it did last match, and in fact, it will probably want to come out Sunday and try to pummel San Marino.

Croatia did not look especially great on Thursday in its 2-1 win over Azerbaijan, but expect the 2018 World Cup finalists to get back in track at Hungary, which has fallen down the rankings to 52.

Two of the other picks Sunday have the same mantra as the first three days of qualifiers: heavyweights vs. minnows.

Expect Belgium and Poland to roll to easy wins.
