The Saturday Philly Props: Sixers v Raptors

So we are already in on one PHILLY PROPS for the Sixers game Saturday night (see it here), but it is a playoff game, so let’s go for another . . . And another . . .

We had a thought that Brett Brown would have the Sixers primed and ready to nail down Game 5 early against the Nets, and that is exactly what happened. A 14-0 lead and an opponent held scoreless for nearly the entire first half of the first quarter are things of beauty in a clincher.

But Brown’s most importand job here should come after 24 minutes. Whether the Sixers are behind at intermission and need a rally or have a lead on the road and need to keep their foot on the gas, the third quarter is going to be key. And just like on Tuesday, the Sixers should answer the bell well coming out of the locker room.

We’re also gonna dive into a couple of Player Assists Totals.

You remember all the assists Jimmy Butler had in Game 1 of the previous series, right? Well, neither does he. That was his 36-point/0-assist game which he vowed to never duplicate. Since then he has posted 7, 7, 4 and 5 dimes. His total is 4.5 today. Over.

And it is called the PHILLY Props, so let’s go with the Philly guy on the other side of the ball. The Raptors’ Kyle Lowry has a 7.5 assist total posted. He has only topped that number in nine of the 32 career games he has played against the Sixers.

Doesn’t matter. This is a different animal -- facing his hometown team in the postseason -- and he’ll be ready to do what he does best. And we always like to see him do well even when he players against the Sixers, just not enough to win.

Lastly, we really thought about a Yes on Ben Simmons getting a Triple Double (+425), but opted for the much safer (and less rewarded) Over 30.5 Points-Rebounds-Assists bet. He is going to get a T/D at some point in the series, but we’ll keep that wager for a home game. And if he does do it here, we’ll cash our bet here anyway.

Pick: Sixers Win Third Quarter (+130)
Pick: Butler Over 4.5 Assists (+105)
Pick: Lowry Over 7.5 Assists (-110)
Pick: Simmons Over 30.5 Pts+Reb+Ast (-118)
