Can the Wings bounce back and steal a game on the road against the Sparks?

The Wings and the Sparks are back at it after their last game on Friday. The Sparks won that one in a close finish, with LA winning by just a point. However, the Wings are now on the road, which has not been their best area. We’ll see if they can stay close again or if the Sparks will run away this time.

Sparks Injuries:

  • None

Wings Injuries:

  • Aziaha James Probable

  • Arike Ogunbowale Out

  • Li Yueru Out

Matchup Breakdown

The Sparks have had a resurgence lately. They’ve pulled themselves into striking range of being a 500 team again, but just haven’t managed to get over the hump. With a solid win over the Wings on Friday, they’re looking to inch ever closer. However, with the team finally healthy, this group is far more dangerous than they were at the beginning of the season. Of course, Plum has been amazing most of the year, along with Stevens and Hamby, but getting back Cameron Brink has been huge. Even though she is still playing limited minutes as she recovers, she’s given them some amazing size and spark off the bench. Overall, this team’s scoring ability is near the best in the league, but defense continues to hold them back. With most of their games turning into rock fights, it’s been a challenge for them to keep up, which could be an issue against the Wings again.

The Wings season is basically all about improvement now. With one of the worst records in the league, they’ve struggled to find much success. However, that doesn’t mean they can be overlooked. This team can score, and against the Sparks' limited defense, they’re dangerous. Taking the last game down to the wire, they only lost by a point, so they are more than capable of competing tonight. Though, with the huge disparity between the Wings' front court and the Sparks, they’ll need another big game from Bueckers. Between her and Siegrist, they’ve been the only players really lighting up the floor. The last game against the Sparks, they were absolutely deadly, but I’m still a little pessimistic about their odds tonight.

The Sparks are simply the better team, plain and simple. They have a much more talented frontcourt that will be nearly impossible for the Wings to slow down. The only way the Wings stay in this game is if they’re hitting their shots at a high level again. They might pull it off, but I’m still going with the Sparks moneyline tonight, the under on the 183 points total, and Dallas at +8 on the spread.

Top Prop Bets

Kelsey Plum Over 19.5 Points (-120)

This one is pretty straightforward. Plum roasted the Wings back on Friday, scoring 28 points. With the Wings still healing from some injuries, Plum should be ready for another strong game. After scoring 20+ in the last four games, she’s been reliable. I don’t think she’ll have any trouble hitting 20 again tonight.

Maddy Siegrist 15+ Points (-115)

Siegrist finally looks healthy again, and the Wings have needed her. Filling out their already thin front court, Siegrist has been putting up solid numbers. In her last three games, including one against the Sparks, she’s been consistently over 15+ points. She’s also seen a solid increase in her shot attempts, reaching about the same level as before her injury. With the team already short-handed, expect to see plenty of Siegrist tonight.

Dearica Hamby Under 7.5 Rebounds (-130)

Hamby has been consistent lately, but her rebounding has been somewhat inconsistent. Averaging 7.7 rebounds per game, she’s right on this line, but over her last ten games, she’s only gone over three times. With Stevens on the court, I don’t expect either of them to reach the 8-rebound mark tonight.
