Today, we’ll reveal the opening odds and three best bets below for the Premier League matches on Saturday, December 20th. Let’s get into it!
Newcastle have won three of their last five Premier League games; however, they are coming into this one off a tough loss to Sunderland on the road last weekend. Newcastle have been good against Chelsea at home, winning all of their last four matches with Chelsea at St. James Park.
Chelsea got back in the win column last weekend after three straight winless weeks in Premier League matches. I am expecting this game to be pretty high scoring, with both teams scoring in four of the last 5 meetings between these sides.
Bournemouth have been struggling lately, failing to win any of their last five Premier League matches. However, their luck may change when taking on Burnley, who have lost seven straight league games.
Both of these teams have shown the ability to score goals while also showcasing some pretty bad defense, so this game could at least be exciting from a goal scoring prospective.
Sunderland have been steady in the table this year and, through 16 games, sit within the top 10 in the league table. They will now take on Brighton, who is winless in their last three outings.
Brighton is solid on their home field with a record of four wins, three draws, and one loss, while Sunderland has struggled a bit on the road. This should be a fun game between two sides within the top 10 in the league.
There isn’t a ton to say about this one. Man City have been rolling lately, outscoring opponents 14-7 in their last four games and winning them all. West Ham, on the other hand, is winless in their last 5.
They will now travel to Ethiad Stadium, where City are always the most dangerous. I’m not expecting this to be very close.
Wolves are still winless through 16 games this season, and I am not sure having the home field will even help them at this point.
Brentford also hasn’t been great this season, currently sitting 15th and winning only one of their last five games. This game screams 1-1 draw to me, but maybe Wolverhampton can finally gut out a win.
Tottenham have struggled in league play lately, losing four of their last seven matches, and things won't get any easier this weekend with Liverpool coming to town.
Tottenham’s offense has struggled lately, but they could catch some momentum against a Liverpool side that has allowed plenty of goals this season. There are almost always goals in this matchup, with the last three matches all going over 5 total goals.
It has been a solid season for Everton so far as they currently sit 9th in the league table. However, Arsenal have been amazing so far this season. Everton has struggled against Arsenal historically, with the side failing to win any of the last five meetings.
Arsenal have lost just one of their last 21 matches in all competitions. This may be a low-scoring affair that Arsenal dominates.
Chelsea at Newcastle Over 2.5 Goals (-150) - This has hit in four of the last five meetings between these two teams. Both teams have scored at least once in four of their last five games. Expect some fireworks in this one.
Sunderland at Brighton (-150) - Sunderland have been solid this season, but mostly just at home. They have two wins, four draws, and four losses traveling this year, and Brighton has been great on their home turf.
Liverpool (+105) at Tottenham - Tottenham haven’t been great at home this season, already losing 4 matches on their home turf. Liverpool has been solid lately, with just one loss in their last five league games. They have been leaky on defense, but Tottenham’s offense has been their downfall.
