Today, we’ll reveal the opening odds and two best bets below for the Premier League matches on Saturday, October 4th. Let’s get into it!
Leeds has started their return to the Premier League very solidly, with a 2-2-2 start. However, they have a tough match this weekend as Tottenham is coming to town. Spurs have looked very good this season and currently sit 4th in the league. Spurs have won 4 of the last 5 meetings between these two teams, and all 5 of those games have gone over 2.5 goals.
Sunderland has been very impressive in their return to the Premier League, much like Leeds. After a week 1 loss, they have been unbeaten, with 2 wins, in their last 4 weeks. Man U has once again struggled on defense and, while they are big favorites this weekend, I don’t think this will be an easy win for them. Man U is coming off a tough 3-1 loss to Brentford, so they will need a win to try and get momentum back on their side.
West Ham has been in rough shape this season, with just 1 win through 5 games. They currently sit in 19th in the table and need to turn this around to avoid falling behind. That will be difficult this week with a trip to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, where they are very tough to beat. West Ham has been leaky on defense against good teams this season and I expect that to continue.
This is the highlight game of the weekend for me. Liverpool is coming off of their loss of this season last week with a 2-1 loss to Crystal Palace. They will now take on a Chelsea squad who has struggled lately, losing back-to-back games to Man U and Brighton. Both teams will be desperate for a win here, so this should be fun. All of the last 3 games have gone over 2.5 goals, with each side scoring.
Tottenham (+145) at Leeds - Leeds has had a good start to the season, but I’m not sure they can hold up with Tottenham. It may be a tough turnaround for Tottenham with a mid-week trip to Norway, but they have enough talent on the roster to pull off another win at Elland Road.
West Ham at Arsenal -2.5 (+140) - West Ham has been really bad this season. They allowed 5 goals to Chelsea and 3 to Tottenham in their two matches against top flight squads. I think they will get dismantled on the road against Arsenal who has outscored opponents 11-3 this season.
