Saturday Afternoon Soccer - Premier League, Burnley vs. Tottenham

Jose Mourinho has a conundrum to solve.

Tottenham is banged up, and is currently fighting on two fronts. The Spurs sit in seventh place in the Premier League, but are just five points behind Chelsea for fourth. But they are also heading to Germany for a massive UEFA Champions League clash Tuesday with RB Leipzig, trailing 1-0 on aggregate after a home loss three weeks ago.

After an extra time contest Wednesday, which saw Tottenham bow out of the F.A. Cup on penalties to Norwich City, Mourinho may choose to prioritize the Champions League match this week.

"I am thinking already about what next and I am really, really worried about playing in two days, Mourinho said after Wednesday's loss. "Trying to give my boys a chance to go to Leipzig with a minimum of conditions to fight against a fresh team, a team with incredible solutions and options and rotations.

"I have to think about a Saturday match and a Tuesday match and try to decide which one is the priority and which one is the one where I can give some of my boys under huge fatigue the best possible chance."

The other factor at play here is the play of Burnley. The Clarets come into the match with just one loss since Jan. 11. Burnley has jumped up into ninth place in the Premier League table and could overtake Tottenham with a win. A victory could also get the Clarets into a European spot.

Wait to see the lineup, and if Spurs are weakened, go for Burnley.
