Soccer: Miller picks 1 from Premier League & 1 from French Ligue

Fulham vs. Chelsea, Lille vs. Dijon

SUNDAY PICKS

Most of the European heavyweights were in action Saturday, but there are some good value bets Sunday in France and England.

Chelsea will look to keep pace in the Premier League top four battle; a win by the Blues can pull them to within a point of fifth place Arsenal.

But will Fulham, which will be playing under interim manager Scott Parker for the first time, spring a surprise after such a languid display Wednesday?

In France, while PSG practically locked up the league in October, the battle for the other two Ligue 1 UEFA Champions League spots continues to be exciting. Four of the teams in the second through sixth spots will be in action Sunday, with Lille the clear leaders right now for the runner up spot.

Can Les Dogues take care of relegation threatened Dijon and put some distance between them and the rest of the pack?

Yesterday, it was Wolverhampton on the Asian Handicap -1 line that came through against a bottom feeder, so we will try the same thing today with both games.

(Home teams always listed first)

PREMIER LEAGUE
Fulham (+550) vs. Chelsea (-200), Chelsea -1 Asian handicap (-120), 9:05 a.m.
We already have Chelsea in the parlay from Saturday, which is still alive after wins from Manchester City and Manchester United.

After its midweek win over Tottenham, Chelsea should look to go to Craven Cottage and continue its push for a top four spot. Fulham just sacked its manager midweek, and is looking to prepare for life in the EFL Championship. But will the Cottagers put up a fight Sunday?

The pick: Chelsea -1 Asian handicap (-120)

FRENCH LIGUE 1
Lille (-200) vs. Dijon (+550), Lille Asian handicap -1 (-120),
9 a.m.

Lille is playing well, sitting in second place behind only PSG in Ligue 1.  It has also been very good at home, with just one loss in 13 matches and a plus-16 goal differential. Dijon sits in 19th place, with a minus-10 goal differential and just two wins on its travels (with three draws).

With Marseille and Saint Etienne battling tomorrow afternoon, Lille can open up a massive 11 point gap for a UEFA Champions League spot. Look for Nicolas Pepe and Rafael Leao to be heavily involved for the hosts.

The pick: Lille -1 Asian handicap (-120)
Bonus pick for the brave: Nicolas Pepe anytime goal scorer -120
