It’s a smaller NHL slate tonight, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still great value on the board if you’re targeting the right player props. With only 3 matchups — Blackhawks vs. Capitals, Hurricanes vs. Red Wings, and Wild vs. Islanders — we’ve zeroed in on the 3 of the strongest player props that are absolutely worth your money. These picks, of course, are backed by trends, favorable matchups, and solid odds, including some juicy plus-money plays that are sure to load up your bankroll.
We think you’re going to love what we found.
Player Prop Odds: -120
Aliaksei Protas has been on an automatic streak at home. He’s recorded at least one point in 7 straight home games for the Capitals, and tonight he faces a leaky Chicago defense that ranks 30th in the NHL in goals against with a dismal 3.59 average. The Blackhawks have struggled to contain both primary and secondary scoring threats all season, and Protas has clearly carved out a dependable role in Washington’s top 9 — especially at Capital One Arena.
This isn’t a heat-check play, instead, this is a consistency play. 7 games in a row with at least a point at home isn’t a fluke — it’s a trend. And with the Capitals looking to hold their #1 seed in the Metropolitan Division, players like Protas will get quality ice time and opportunities. In fact, given their hold on the seed, he might even get bumped up into the top 6 for tonight.
At -120, this isn’t heavy chalk and generally, we’d look for more, but the matchup supports the trend and this one feels like easy money for a Friday night.
Player Prop Odds: +110
Here’s a plus-money prop with some real value to it.
Anthony DeAngelo has notched at least one point in each of the Islanders’ last 4 games as favorites, and tonight against the Wild, New York is again listed as the favorite. He’s not a known goal scorer as he only has 4 on the season, but keep in mind that 2 of those came in their last 4 games. He’s hot.
DeAngelo is known more for his offensive game than his defending, and when the Islanders are driving the play — as they should be tonight — he gets involved on the power play unit and at 5 on 5 hockey. The Wild aren’t exactly a shutdown team this season, and their PK has been somewhat exploitable. That bodes well for a puck-moving defenseman like DeAngelo who racks up assists when the team is buzzing.
If you're looking for a way to grab some decent value on a defenseman with offensive upside, this is your guy. +110 for a player hitting this mark in 4 straight games? We’ll take it and we’ll cash it. This feels like one of the best NHL player props for the night.
Player Prop Odds: +155
This one’s a bit off the radar — and that’s exactly why it’s so valuable to us as bettors. Marco Kasper has recorded at least one point in each of the Red Wings’ last 4 home games, and tonight he’ll try to extend that streak against the Carolina Hurricanes.
On paper, this looks like a tough matchup for Kasper and the Red Wings. Carolina is elite defensively and structurally sound. But even great teams can get caught in high-event games on the road — and that’s where young, aggressive players like Kasper thrive. He’s been generating high-danger chances and capitalizing on his ice time, especially in front of the Detroit crowd. He typically averages around 15-16 minutes per game, but these last few games he’s been hitting around the 19-20 minute mark.
The +155 price is more than fair given his current production. He doesn’t need to score a goal — a helper gets you there as well. And if Detroit does break through against Carolina’s defense, don’t be surprised if Kasper is in the mix someway, somehow.
This is a sharp value bet with a sneaky upside that we simply cannot pass up.
Even on a lighter NHL night, sharp bettors know value is all about picking your spots — and tonight’s slate definitely delivers on that.
With Protas riding a strong home point streak, DeAngelo flashing offensive consistency at solid plus money, and Kasper offering high-upside value in an under-the-radar play, this trio of NHL player props brings a strong blend of floor and upside.
These aren’t just random picks, instead, each pick is supported by trends, matchup data, and recent usage that shouldn’t be ignored. Whether you’re looking to pad your bankroll a bit or take a swing on plus-odds value to cash in, these player props are positioned to deliver.
Let’s cash in on these props while the board is still this soft.
