NHL Tuesday: Big Rebound Spot for Flyers

Also Islanders, Devils and Rangers in action

FLYERS (+140) at WILD (-160), 8 p.m.
Pick: Flyers To Win (+140)

It’s Anthony Stolarz’ turn in net for Carter Hart as the Flyers (25-24-7) complete a back-to-back. Stolarz is no Hart, but since returning from a lower body injury, he has has played very well in two games.

Philadelphia could have made a huge step toward a playoff spot against Pittsburgh Monday, but came up short despite a club-record 28 shots in the second period. The effort is there, as it has been since the middle of January.

The Wild (27-24-5) has stumbled to 1-3-2 February so far and the Flyers know they need to rebound quickly or their 10-game point streak all goes for naught.

ISLANDERS (-125) at SABRES (+105), 7 p.m.
Pick: Islanders To Win (-125)

The Islanders (33-16-6) continue to be the biggest surprise out of the league this season, leading the Metropolitan Division over the Capitals and the Penguins and showing no signs of slowing down.

The Sabres (27-21-7) started out the season as one of the league’s top teams. They have seriously regressed to the mean but are still in the hunt for a wild card spot in the playoffs. They will need to come out in full force here to take down the hot Isles. The Sabres have a stacked roster filled with a bunch of offensive talent but the Islanders’ goaltending has been lights out with Thomas Greiss and Robin Lehner.

DEVILS (+190) at BLUES (-230), 8 p.m.
Pick: Blues To Win (-230)

The Devils (21-26-8) head to St. Louis to take on the Blues in the opener of their three-game road trip. The Devils somehow managed to beat the Hurricanes on Sunday despite being out-played and out-shot for 90% of the game. The Blues are in a tight race for a playoff spot in the West and will look to finish the Devils quickly and easily here.

The Blues (27-22-5) started off the season in horrid fashion and there was much speculation that there would be a fire sale in St. Louis, however they have managed to turn things around as of late. They’ve gone 10-2-1 in their last 13 and have won six straight. Things are definitely starting to click for them and they will look to add win No. 7 to their streak.

RANGERS (+180) at JETS (-220), 8 p.m.
Pick: Jets Goal Line (-1.5/+130)

The New Yorkers head to Winnipeg to take on the best team in the West. The Jets (35-18-3) have one of the best offenses in the league even with F Patrik Laine struggling as of late. They have the ability to decimate teams quicker than one could say “Blue Shirts”.

The Rangers (24-23-8) have picked up their play as of late but it may not matter. Winnipeg at home (7-0-1) is a tough customer and we think they will have no issue burying the Rangers easily here.
