And then, there were eight. The NFL’s Wild Card Weekend truly lived up to the hype and craziness that everyone was hoping for, and we’re now left with eight of the best teams in the league. Four games are taking place between Saturday and Sunday to determine the conference championship matchups, and we’re certainly looking forward to all of them.
We’ve got you covered with the best player props from each matchup, starting with the Buffalo Bills, who are taking on the Denver Broncos. The Broncos are 1.5-point favorites at home, which effectively makes this game a toss-up.
This is the first meeting between these two AFC powerhouses all season, so it will be interesting to see how Bo Nix and Josh Allen match up. Let’s get into it!
A lot of people feel that, without Patrick Mahomes, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Burrow in the playoff field this year, it’s Josh Allen’s time to shine. He’s been in the shadow of those quarterbacks for years, especially Mahomes, but he could cement his place as one of the greats of the game with a Super Bowl run.
Allen was masterful in the Wild Card round, especially in the second half, torching the Jacksonville Jaguars for 273 yards and a passing touchdown. We’re expecting Allen to have another strong performance, even against the Broncos’ staunch defense. If you just look at the total score, the Broncos have allowed 16 total points in their past two games, but that was against depleted offenses.
They proved they weren’t immune to big performances from their opponents when Trevor Lawrence had 279 yards and three touchdowns the prior week, and we’re expecting a similar performance from Allen here.
The Bills might be viewed as one of the best teams in the league, but they’re not without their faults. They have among the worst rushing defenses in the game, giving up 137.2 yards per game on the ground.
The Broncos’ rushing attack isn’t what it once was, but with Nix being a dual-threat QB, we’re anticipating some designed runs that should go after this poor unit. He’s had 42+ rushing yards in back-to-back contests, so hitting 23 should be a piece of cake for him here.
We didn’t necessarily want to invest in Nix’s passing line, but that doesn’t mean we’re unconfident in his top wideout. Courtland Sutton has been masterful all season, having 74 receptions and over 1,000 yards.
Nix loves going his way in high-pressure situations, and we can’t think of a more high-pressure situation than your season being on the line. Look for the Nix-Sutton connection to continue in a big way here, resulting in at least 50 receiving yards.
