The NFL playoffs kick off this weekend with a host of strong games. Among the best viewing options is Sunday’s middle contest off a day-long triple header featuring the San Francisco 49ers (12-5) taking on the Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) at Lincoln Financial Field.

San Francisco was one win away from being the NFC’s top seed heading into last week’s showdown against the Seattle Seahawks. One of the NFL’s most prolific offenses laid an egg, scoring just a field goal in a 13-3 loss to their divisional rivals.

That forced the 49ers into a road matchup against Philadelphia. The Eagles were the NFC East winners, and the defending champions won three straight – including a 13-12 victory over the Buffalo Bills – before losing their regular-season finale as they rested their starters.

Can the 49ers recover from their first loss in nearly two months to dethrone last year’s Super Bowl winner? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our top three player props for this intriguing Wild Card matchup.

Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts OVER 31.5 Rushing Yards

For Philadelphia to make its fourth Super Bowl appearance since 2018, the Eagles will need Jalen Hurts to be an elite playmaker. The quarterback finished this season with 3,224 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, and six picks through the air. On the ground, Hurts recorded 421 rushing yards on 105 attempts, scoring eight more touchdowns.

The 49ers haven’t faced a ton of mobile quarterbacks this season. When they have, Arizona’s Kyler Murray and New York’s Jaxson Dart both finished with more than 32 rushing yards. That’s the mark that Hurts will need to cover his player prop bet total, and bettors should expect him to finish with at least that many rushing yards on Sunday.

San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey OVER 45.5 Receiving Yards

For the first time since 2022, San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey played an entire season. The running back recorded his fifth 1,000-yard rushing performance in 2025, finishing with 311 carries for 1,202 yards and 10 touchdowns.

His impact for the 49ers extended beyond the backfield. Often, McCaffrey is a check-down option for Brock Purdy. That’s why he recorded a team-high 102 catches for 924 yards and seven touchdowns for San Francisco’s offense in 2025.

Can he have a strong receiving performance for the 49ers on Sunday? The answer is yes. The Eagles have allowed five games where running backs recorded more than 46 receiving yards. Expect McCaffrey to make it six when these two teams collide in the Wild Card round.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley To Record A Touchdown (-125)

At 32 years old, Saquon Barkley isn’t coming off his best season of his NFL career. Still, the running back finished with 280 carries for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 37 passes for 273 yards and two more scores.

He’ll be well-rested heading into Sunday’s tilt with the 49ers and be the focus for the defensive unit. Still, bettors should expect him to score at least one touchdown in this contest after San Francisco yielded five scores to running backs in their past four outings.

Best Bet: San Francisco (+4.5)

Both teams have plenty of unanswered questions heading into the playoffs. The 49ers have experienced several significant injuries, and their stout defense struggled against the Seahawks. Likewise, Philadelphia has gone against talented teams this year, owning just three wins over teams that made the playoffs.

Oddsmakers are favoring the rested Eagles, projecting the defending world champions will win by more than a field goal. I like San Francisco’s chances of pulling an upset in this contest. Shy of that result, Philadelphia has struggled to win convincingly this season. Take the 49ers to cover the spread on Sunday.
