Is this a Super Bowl preview? That’s what some analysts have promoted Sunday’s Week 17 game featuring the Philadelphia Eagles (10-5) traveling north to play the Buffalo Bills (11-4).

Philadelphia has secured at least one home playoff contest for the upcoming tournament, meaning this game could be the last meaningful contest that some of its starters play in 2025. The Eagles will look to extend its two-game winning streak on Sunday in hopes of locking up the No. 2 seed in the NFC.

Buffalo is also assured of making the playoff field, but their position has yet to be determined. The Bills are currently trailing the Patriots in the AFC East, needing help from fellow AFC East foes against New England for Buffalo to claim its sixth consecutive divisional championship.

Which team will potentially improve its playoff positioning with a win on Sunday? We’ll cover that and provide bettors with our top three player props for this intriguing NFL matchup.

Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen OVER 198.5 Passing Yards

Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen is on the verge of another MVP season. The 6-foot-5 signal-caller has completed nearly 70 percent of his passes for 3,406 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions thus far. He’s also scored 12 rushing touchdowns and added 552 yards on the ground for the Bills.

The Eagles have one of the league’s top defensive secondaries. Philadelphia has allowed just over 192 passing yards per game, holding their last four opponents below 155 passing yards.

Allen has ironically lost four of the five games where he’s played against teams that rank in the top 15 of the league’s pass defense category. Only a split with New England kept him from being winless in those games. Still, he’s thrown for 250-plus yards in three of those five outings. That’s why bettors should take him to cover this passing prop total.

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley OVER 86.5 Rushing Yards

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley secured his fifth 1,000-yard season with his outburst against Washington last week. Now, the veteran running back has 1,067 rushing yards on the year, earning that total on 261 carries. Barkley has scored nine total touchdowns for Philly thus far.

Running teams have chewed up the Buffalo defense this season. The Bills rank 29th in the NFL, yielding nearly 144 rushing yards per game. That plays into Philadelphia’s gameplan. Take Barkley to cover his rushing prop bet total with ease on Sunday.

Buffalo Bills RB James Cook OVER 12.5 Receiving Yards

James Cooks has emerged as a backfield threat for the Bills this season. The 5-foot-11 athlete has a league-best 1,532 rushing yards on 287 carries, scoring 12 times on the ground for Buffalo.

What’s lost is his ability to catch the football. Cook has 32 receptions for 288 yards and two scores through the air in 2025. Philadelphia has allowed 11 of their 15 opposing running backs to date to record 13 or more receiving yards against its defensive unit. Expect Cook to make that an even dozen in Sunday’s contest, covering this receiving prop wager total.

Best Bet: Philadelphia (+2.5)

Philadelphia’s ability to improve their NFC playoff seeding relies heavily on the outcome of the Sunday Night Football game between the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears. Buffalo’s chances at winning the division – and hosting a first-round contest – will be known by kickoff. This means both teams will have plenty to play for on Sunday.

Four of the Eagles’ five losses have come to teams that clinched a playoff berth this season. The Bills have two head-scratching losses against a significantly easier schedule. Buffalo is not nearly as battle-tested as their opponent heading into this game. That’s why I like the Eagles to upset Buffalo, covering the 2.5-point underdog status ahead on Sunday.
