Can anyone believe it’s already Week 14 of the NFL season? We have slightly more than a month to go in the regular season, and the playoff picture is taking shape. There are a lot of exciting, important games on the slate this week, with one of them being this Thursday Night Football matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions.
A win for the Cowboys would be a huge boost to their playoff odds, as their 6-5-1 record has them on the outside looking in, hoping their late-season surge will be enough to propel them to the big dance.
The Lions are also currently on the outskirts of the playoffs after their Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers, a result that not many people saw coming. This should be one of the best Thursday Night games of the season, so we’re looking forward to seeing how it all goes down.
With that said, let’s get into our favorite player props from this one!
If you haven’t been paying attention, Dak Prescott has been cooking this season, especially over the past three weeks. He’s had 268+ passing yards in the past three games, including two performances with at least 320.
Prescott and the Cowboys are riding a three-game winning streak heading into this one, and regardless of the end result, they should throw the ball a lot. We wouldn’t be surprised if Prescott threw for over 300 yards again, so we’re absolutely riding with the over on his passing yardage prop.
We’re going to keep it simple here by taking the over on passing yards for both quarterbacks in this game. In our minds, it’s going to be an absolute shootout, and both players are able to support their teams in those situations.
Goff and the Lions have lost three of their last five, but it hasn’t been for a lack of effort from their QB. He’s had at least 255 yards in each of those games, which includes a 320-yard outing against the Washington Commanders.
Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery are a rock-solid backfield tandem, but Goff should still deal, going over on his passing line.
This is likely the highest a Jameson Williams receiving line will be this season, but we’re riding with the over regardless. Amon Ra St. Brown will likely be sidelined for this contest, and even if he plays, it might be in a limited capacity.
This lends itself nicely to a great game from Williams, an athlete with big-play potential that can break off a 50+-yard reception on a moment’s notice.
He had a 144-yard game last week with St. Brown nursing an injury, and should be in for a similar workload this week, especially considering how highly we’re valuing Goff. Don’t overthink the WR1 in Detroit this week.
