Seahawks vs Commanders Top Player Props for Sunday Night Football
Will Sam Darnold continue to impress in Week 9?
Published on

Week 9 of the NFL season is officially here, and we’re hoping it’s a much more exciting week than Week 8. There were far too many blowout contests last week, leaving fans frustrated with a lack of competitive matchups.

We’re looking forward to the Sunday Night Football battle between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders, a game that features an over/under of 48.5 points.

The Seahawks are a 2.5-point favorite on the road, but a lot can happen, especially in primetime. With that information in mind, we’ve put our favorite player props together from Underdog, hoping to end the Sunday slate on a positive note. Let’s get into it!

Sam Darnold OVER 242.5 Passing Yards

There were some doubts surrounding Sam Darnold and what type of value he was going to bring to the Seattle Seahawks, but he’s certainly proved his doubters wrong. Darnold has been consistent this year, throwing 12 touchdowns and just four interceptions, and he hasn’t been afraid to throw the rock.

This is a great Sunday Night Football matchup for him, as the Commanders allow a staggering 244 passing yards per game. Darnold has achieved more than that in two of his past three games, and we expect that trend to continue in primetime.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba OVER 90.5 Receiving Yards

A big reason for Darnold’s success has been the breakout season of Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the league leader in receiving yards. He holds that title, playing in only seven games, which is impressive by itself.

He’s had 96+ yards in all but one game this season, with his lone
“down” game coming against the Arizona Cardinals, where he logged four catches for 79 yards.

We’re expecting Darnold and JSN to stay hot against a poor defense, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the young pass-catcher had 125+ yards in this ideal spot.

Jacory Croskey-Merritt UNDER 43.5 Rushing Yards

Fantasy football managers were ecstatic when Jacory Croskey-Merritt rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown against the New York Giants in Week 1, as he was a player taken later in drafts.

He’s been mostly disappointing since then, only having one other game of note, a 111-yard performance against the Los Angeles Chargers. He can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups, and considering the Seahawks allow the fewest rushing yards per game this season, we also can’t trust him in our betting slip.
