Week 9 of the NFL season is officially here, and we’re hoping it’s a much more exciting week than Week 8. There were far too many blowout contests last week, leaving fans frustrated with a lack of competitive matchups.
The week starts with a contest between the Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins, which currently has an over/under of 50.5. The Ravens are 7.5-point favorites with Lamar Jackson back in the starting lineup, but with Mike McDaniel on chop watch, we’re thinking the Dolphins’ offense is going to trade blows with him. Plus, the Ravens’ defense has been leaky lately, so we can’t trust them to slow anyone down at this point.
With all of this in mind, we’ve put our favorite player props together, hoping to hit it big to kick off the week. Let’s get into it!
Jaylen Waddle OVER 65.5 Receiving Yards
Tyreek Hill's absence is the best thing to happen to Jaylen Waddle, who has been on a tear lately. Waddle is coming off a five-catch, 99-yard performance against the Atlanta Falcons, his third 90+ yard game in the past four weeks.
He did have a stinker against the Cleveland Browns in Week 7, but we’re chalking that up to the Browns’ stellar defense, not Waddle. We would take the over on his receiving line up to 84.5, so we’re excited to get a discount at Underdog with this 65.5-yard line.
He’s the heart and soul of this offense at the moment, and Tua Tagovailoa loves looking his way, so this is an easy pick for us.
Lamar Jackson OVER 235.5 Passing Yards
Lamar Jackson hasn’t played since Week 4 due to an injury, which might cause some trepidation for bettors, especially as it relates to his passing line. However, Jackson had a monster game against the Detroit Lions in Week 2, going for an impressive 288 yards, and their defense has been far better than the Dolphins’.
Justin Herbert put up 264 on them, Justin Fields 226, and Daniel Jones 272, to name a few. We believe Jackson should torch them in this one, as he nearly played in Week 8, so he’s more than ready to come back and put a big performance together, having at least 236 passing yards.
Tua Tagovailoa OVER 222.5 Passing Yards
We feel similarly about both of these defenses, as the Ravens have also been allowing opposing QBs to have massive games. Caleb Williams just threw for 285 against them, C.J. Stroud 244, and Patrick Mahomes 270.
Quarterbacks love facing the Ravens, and even though Tagovailoa’s season has been inconsistent, we think this matchup is too good to pass up, so we’ll also take the over on his passing total.
