There are storylines upon storylines heading into Week 6 of the NFL season. One of them has to include this revamped Patriots team that just defeated Buffalo away from home and has four extremely winnable games over the course of October.
They can continue their win streak on Sunday against New Orleans. In the AFC, Cam Ward and the Titans look to make it two in a row as they head up to Vegas.
New England is 3-2 to start the year, with a cupcake of a schedule on tap with New Orleans, Tennessee, Cleveland, and Atlanta waiting for them over the next four weeks.
Drake Maye and the Pats walk into New Orleans after a huge primetime win over Buffalo and have seemed to have played in every possible game this season thus far. Close losses, close wins, and blowout wins are all on the receipt.
The Saints are coming off their first win of the year over an uninspiring Giants team, and I don’t see them as true threats to break this short but sweet New England winning streak.
Best Bet: Patriots -3.5
The Jaguars proved themselves on Monday night with a big win over the Chiefs, but they run into a juggernaut of an offense this week that will be too much to handle. Sam Darnold and the Seahawks are 3-2 with two tight losses against top NFC teams.
The offensive firepower between Charbonnet, Walker, Kupp, JSN, and Troy Horton is simply leagues ahead of this Jacksonville defense if Darnold just does not turn the ball over.
Last season, Seattle went 4-1 vs the AFC, and after starting the year 1-0 with a win over Pittsburgh, expect this trend to continue.
Best Bet: Seahawks +1.5
Yes, the Titans got extremely lucky when a force greater than football handed them a victory in the desert this past Sunday. While I don’t expect a win to come against the Raiders away from home, Cam Ward is starting to show that he can string together some drives with Ayomanor and Ridley serving as his key targets.
Add Tyjae Spears into the mix, and this offense should be more productive moving forward. The Raiders, on the other hand, have looked awful on both ends throughout this season.
After a brutal loss to Chicago that could have gone their way, a 6-40 loss in Indy last week turned their momentum even further downwards. Take Cam Ward and Tennessee to ride their positive momentum to a closely contested game in Vegas.
Best Bet: Titans +5.5
