A potential NFC Championship matchup will unfold on Thursday when the Washington Commanders travel north to face the Green Bay Packers.

Washington easily beat their NFC East foes in Week 1, defeating the New York Giants 21-6. The Commanders put the game away in the fourth quarter with a late rushing touchdown for Deebo Samuel as he made his debut with Washington.

Green Bay took a commanding 17-3 lead into halftime of their intra-divisional matchup with Detroit. The Packers earned their 27-13 victory over the Lions by limiting their opponents’ high-flying offense to just 246 total yards in Week 1.

Will the Commanders or Packers remain undefeated after this intriguing matchup? We’ll cover that and provide you with our three favorite player prop bets for this Thursday night matchup.

Washington Commanders QB Jayden Daniels OVER 225.5 Passing Yards

The Offensive Rookie of the Year – Washington’s Jayden Daniels – started his sophomore campaign in style. He threw for 233 yards and one touchdown while notching 68 yards on the ground against the Giants.

Against the Packers, look for him to use his arm even more. Green Bay yielded exactly 225 yards to Detroit’s Jared Goff, but the Lions elected for short-to-medium passes. Washington will push it downfield, and Daniels should have at least 230 passing yards in Thursday’s game.

Green Bay Packers QB Jordan Love OVER 5.5 Rushing Yards

In his team’s season-opening win, Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love wasn’t called upon to do much heavy lifting. He completed 16 of his 22 pass attempts for 188 yards and two touchdowns last week.

This week, he’ll likely face more pressure. That will force him out of the pocket and give him opportunities to scramble downfield. While Washington’s Daniels is better known for his running ability, don’t sleep on Love’s legs. Take him to cover this minute rushing prop total on Thursday.

Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin OVER 55.5 Receiving Yards

In the offseason, Washington wide receiver Terry McLaurin pushed for a trade as he sought a new contract. The Commanders obliged with a big deal, signing him for three years worth up to $96 million. He’s deserving of that after notching five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

We’d love to look at his new teammate for our final prop prediction, but predicting Samuel’s final receiving total is tough. He’s new to the offense, and the Commanders seem intent on using him in multiple looks, like his previous team – the San Francisco 49ers – had done.

That’s why McLaurin is the better bet for bettors. An organization isn’t re-signing McLaurin for up to $32 million a year for a two-catch, 27-yard performance like he had in Week 1. Expect him to pick that up quickly and finish with at least 60 receiving yards on Thursday.

Best Bet: UNDER 48.5 Points

I get it. Taking the over for all three player props seems as if these two teams’ offenses will rule the game. The opposite is true, however. Green Bay added Micah Parsons. Now, the Packers have a formidable unit that sacked Goff four times while picking him off once in their victory.

The Commanders have a strong unit, too. Yes, the New York Giants very likely won’t be in the hunt for the playoffs, but Washington forced Wilson to throw 20 incompletions and made his life miserable throughout the contest.

Bettors should expect these defenses to do the same on Thursday night. While I like Washington to cover the 3.5-point spread, the best bet for the primetime affair is a final combined score under 49 points.
