Super Bowl Sunday is finally here, and we have three of the best Kansas City prop bets to make before the big rematch begins. Patrick Mahomes has continued to utilize his legs in these last three Super Bowl appearances, crushing his rushing prop in each game.
Elsewhere on Kansas City, wideouts Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster are due to set the tone on offense for Andy Reid’s squad - who is favored to win their third straight Super Bowl.
The Kansas City Chiefs win football games because of Patrick Mahomes’ legs. He may not show up as an incredible runner on the stat sheet, but on third downs and red zone tries, Andy Reid and company continue to turn to Patrick’s legs in order to set themselves up in scoring positions.
The 3-time Super Bowl champion has gone for 29/33/44/66 yards on the ground over KC’s last four appearances. Without a standout receiver or running back on the roster, this trend should continue against a Philly defense that will have their hands full with Kelce, Worthy, Hopkins, and the other Chiefs playmakers.
He’s gone for 31+ yards in four of seven games dating back to the Chiefs victory over the Eagles two years ago. This one sure looks like a no-brainer!
Worthy is slowly becoming a key playmaker for the Chiefs and should cap off his incredible debut postseason appearance as a featured target in this rematch between Philadelphia and Kansas City.
Worthy has 11 receptions for 130 yards and a score thus far in the Chiefs two postseason wins, including an incredible sort of catch against Buffalo almost two weeks ago. He also had two rushing attempts for 16 yards in the 1st quarter of that AFC Championship matchup.
I believe the Eagles will look at those tapes and be prepared for the Worthy run, prompting Mahomes and Reid to draw up a screen play or two for the speedy playmaker in the first part of this contest. During regular season play, the rookie wideout had 34 receptions in the first half compared to 25 receptions in the second half. This is a great early-game bet to make.
JuJu Smith-Schuster has had a rather rollercoaster ride of a career. Once a budding superstar NFL wideout, Smith-Schuster quickly turned into a forgotten journeyman who was practically dumped on the street by Pittsburgh a few years ago.
After rejoining Kansas City at the start of this season, part of me truly believes that this could turn into a JuJu revenge game. I’m not exactly sure who the revenge will be for, but the trends point to JuJu turning in an above average performance. In their Super Bowl matchup against Philadelphia two years ago, Smith-Schuster had seven grabs for 53 yards.
In the game against Buffalo a week and a half ago, he put up 60 yards on two downfield catches. While playing around 50% of snaps per game, JuJu’s great hands and slot route running could open up the Eagles defense early on, similar to the 2023 matchup.
