This has to be one of our favorite lines coming into this week. The Texans will be taking on Green Bay at Lambeau Field. Even though the Texans are on the road, we still love Stroud's ability to move the ball through the air. The Packers have been solid this year, but their biggest weakness has been their passing defense. Over the first six weeks of the season, they have landed themselves as the 25th pass defense, giving up nearly 230 yards through the air. Stroud has been cooking through the air as well. Before this last game against the Patriots, he had racked up back-to-back games with over 300 yards.
Of course, there is one big issue with this line. It’s the lack of Nico Collins. Collins was placed on IR after suffering a hamstring injury in week 5. Initially, he was considered day-to-day, but he was moved over to IR, which sidelined him through at least week ten, unfortunately. As one of the best wide receivers in the league, it’s been a massive hit for Houston. Regardless, this team still has plenty of receiver talent. Stefon Diggs and Tank Dell are both elite options for Stroud, and he’s shown he can still get his yards even without Nico Collins.
Daniels has been the breakout star of the season so far! He’s shown he’s ready to be in the league and has been a force. His ability to move the ball through the air and on the ground himself puts him in an elite category of player. We have loved every minute of it so far.
This week, he’ll be taking on a Carolina team that has been struggling all season. Even after benching Bryce Young, the tide hasn’t turned for this roster. Defense hasn’t been their worst quality, but you don’t get a 1-5 record with good defense. They have been allowing around 225 passing yards a game. That places them as the 23rd-passing defense in the league. With how Daniels has been moving the ball, the 275 is doable against this team.
The Lions had a sleepy start, but they have finally clicked into gear. They are now looking like a favorite to push towards the Super Bowl. A big part of that has been due to Goff finding his legs. He has been excellent the last few weeks, dropping 40+ on both the Seahawks and Cowboys. With multiple games over 300 passing yards already this year, it’s not crazy to think he could do it in this divisional rivalry game. However, it might be a tall order with the Vikings coming off a bye week and having a home-field advantage. Regardless, Minnesota has been weak in defending the pass. They are allowing the NFL's third most yards of passing, nearly 300 yards a game over their last three games. It’s surprising, considering they are still undefeated after six weeks. We believe in this Lions team this week; we think Goff could take over this game!
Any time we see plus money on the Chiefs, we have to take it. They will be traveling to San Francisco this week, rekindling the Super Bowl rivalry for last year. Even though they are the underdog in this one, we still think they can take it. The 49ers have been banged up, and unable to close out leads. Going against one of the best comeback artists ever to play the game in Mahomes, we could see this one go down to the wire!
With the Texans traveling to Green Bay this week, this could be one of the best games of the week. The two teams are both on hot streaks. We still think Houston can take this one on the road. Even though they will be missing Nico Collins for this one, the combination of Stefon Diggs, Joe Mixon, and Tank Dell will be enough, especially with Green Bay's passing defense being so poor lately.
