Our 10 best anytime TD bets finished 4-6 last week, with some nice plus-money payouts on Jayden Reed, Kyle Pitts, Cooper Kupp, and Breece Hall. We missed on some serious longshots, including Jalin Hyatt and Noah Fant, both of whom will not make another anytime TD article this season.
Looking ahead to the week 2 slate, we've got 10 more picks ready to go and will look to move above .500. Not an easy task with average odds just under +200.
Buffalo Bills at Miami Dolphins
After a disappointing performance in week 1, we think Kincaid is due for a big game on Thursday night. He managed to catch only one of his two targets last week, with the incompletion coming on his only red zone target. With a high total, touchdowns are juiced like crazy in this TNF matchup, so we will look to find plus-money with Kincaid, who should be Allen's primary target this season.
Las Vegas Raiders at Baltimore Ravens
These odds are surprisingly favorable given Likely's week 1 performance. In a week 1 matchup with the Chiefs, the Ravens tight end put up 9 receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown. The final stat line could have been even more impressive had he caught one of the 2 targets he got inside of the 10 yard line, including the game winner which he missed by an inch. Likely seems very likely to find the end zone again here in a much more favorable matchup with the Raiders.
LA Chargers at Carolina Panthers
We know the Chargers are going to put up points against the Panthers this week, and we know Harbaugh would prefer to do so on the ground. Edwards got 42% of the week 1 snaps for the Chargers, and should see some red zone carries here in week 2. We're betting he's able to find the end zone against a Panthers defense that allowed 180 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns last week.
New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys
Kamara went off against the Panthers in week 1, but this matchup is considerably tougher, which means we get to bet his anytime touchdown at plus-money. Kamara led all NFL RBs with 3 carries inside the 5 yard line in week 1. We've been high on the Saints' offseason offensive coordinator change all offseason, and this is the week we get to cash in on that move.
Indianapolis Colts at Green Bay Packers
We're willing to take the bait on the Colts passing attack with this pick. AD Mitchell led the league in average separation in week 1 and had an average depth of target of 16.4 yards. He was open deep the entire game, and Richardson just missed him. If they connect on one this week we will cash this ticket at +330 odds.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions
With the highest implied team total in this slate, the Detroit Lions skill players are juiced like crazy heading into week 2. We'll turn to the Bucs, likely playing from behind, with this anytime TD pick. Godwin scored a touchdown on his only target in the red zone last week. If the Lions take away Evans after his 2 TD performance, it seems likely Godwin will be the player Baker turns to.
New York Jets at Tennessee Titans
Wilson led all NFL receivers in red zone targets in week 1, but was not able to get in the box score. The Titans secondary looked tough against the Bears, but we're betting that Rodgers and the Jets want to get their star receiver on the board in a game they should win.
Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos
Harris and the Steelers were a bit unlucky to not find the end zone against the Falcons last week. Najee finished with a 100% usage rate (5 carries) inside the redzone, trailing only Saquon Barkley last week. Barkley has -165 odds to score, while Harris has +195. We'll chase the odds here and assume Pittsburgh can actually punch one in this week.
Chicago Bears at Houston Texans
After Stefon Diggs stole the show in week 1, Nico Collins is due to find the end zone on Sunday night. When we compare his frame to Diggs and Dell, he should clearly be the red zone target for the Texans' passing attack. Particularly if Houston is able to get him isolated on anyone other than Jaylon Johnson. Getting +165 odds seems like a steal here, and we're glad to take the bait.
Atlanta Falcons at Philadelphia Eagles
Barkley scored 3 times in his debut for the Eagles, and that's a trend we don't see stopping anytime soon. He was, by far, the most used player in the red zone last week, finishing with 8 carries and 1 target inside of the 20. He managed to rack up 51 yards inside of the red zone in an NFL game... a stat that I can't remember having seen before. We'll lay the juice in what looks like a week 2 lock.
