The Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Gillette Stadium to take on the New England Patriots on Thursday night. Both teams won their preseason openers behind solid defensive play and just enough offense.

The Patriots are currently 2.5-point favorites with the total sitting at 36 points. In this article, we'll share our best bet and favorite player props for this preseason showdown.

Best Bet: Under 36 Points

Only 5 of the 16 games from week 1 of the preseason went over 36 points, and both of these teams played well under that number. The Patriots held Carolina to just 3 points while the Eagles held the Ravens to just 13.

We know we will not see Philly starters for more than a series (if that), and New England's rotation of 4 quarterbacks makes it extremely hard for any one of them to get into a rhythm. Eagles third-string quarterback Tanner McKee looked miserable last week, completing just 6-of-16 passes for 39 yards (2.4 YPA).

Not only will this game stay well under 36 points, but it will likely be one of the lowest-scoring games from the entire preseason week 2 slate. Jump on this number early as we think it closes closer to 33.

Patriots Under 19.5 Points at Bet365

Bet365 has a team prop for the Patriots under 19.5 points at -110 juice. This is a great option for bettors looking to get action on the under after the total gets beat up at other sportsbooks.

New England was only able to muster 17 points against the Carolina Panthers, and this Eagles' defense is considerably deeper than what they faced in week 1.

Baltimore has historically been the best preseason team in the NFL and Philadelphia held them to just 164 yards overall. The Ravens were just 10-22 passing for 82 yards.

The sledding could also be tough if the Patriots plan on running the ball. They were held to just 113 yards on 30 carries, which includes a 20-yard run by Terrell Jennings. Outside of that carry, the Panthers held New England to just 3.2 yards per attempt.
