It's another Monday NFL doubleheader and Jared Hackmyer picks the Chiefs vs Bills and the Cowboys vs Cardinals

The first game starts at 5 pm EDT, followed by a second game at 8:15 pm.

Chiefs (-5) BILLS (55.5)

Jared’s Pick: Chiefs

Breakout Player: RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire

Nothing’s better than two of the best AFC teams going at it on a Monday afternoon. These are clearly more offensive-minded teams, but both defenses haven’t been too bad. QB Pat Mahomes has been arguably the hardest quarterback to stop in his first three seasons. Going into week 6, Mahomes has thrown for 1474 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Yes Mahomes is probably the most talented quarterback in the NFL, but the weapons he has are a huge asset. Mahomes has thrown 769 yards, and 7 touchdowns to WR Tyreek Hill and TE Travis Kelce alone. Buffalo is likely going to be without star CB Tre'Davious White. With White out, Mahomes will definitely be aggressive in the passing game, like the Titans were last week against Buffalo without White.

The Bills went from a defensive team in 2019, to an offensive threat in 2020. Possible MVP candidate, QB Josh Allen, has thrown for 1589 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. Allen had a tough week against Tennessee last week, getting picked twice. Going against another good secondary, Allen could struggle again.

Cardinals (-1) COWBOYS (53.5)

Jared’s Pick: Cardinals

Breakout Player: WR DeAndre Hopkins

Dallas’ offense has been has been putting up some ridiculous numbers. They currently rank 1st in passing and total scrimmage yards, and 3rd in points per game. Unfortunately, they are facing some big issues that could put their season in jeopardy. Their offensive line is without their two starting left tackles due to injury and their starting center retired this offseason. Most importantly, they lost their star QB, Dak Prescott, to a devastating ankle injury in week 5. Dallas will now have to rely on QB Andy Dalton for the rest of the season. Dalton will have a lot of weapons on offense, but we'll need to see how much he has left as a frontline NFL QB against an Arizona defense that has been playing very well, prior to the loss of star LB Chandler Jones. If he's sharp, the form Bengal starter may be the best backup QB in the league and could still lead the Cowboys to the playoffs.

It’s hard to tell what the Cardinal defense will do without Jones, but they rank 6th in passing yards allowed, and 8th in points. I can see Dallas being very run heavy with Dalton consistently feeding Ezekiel Elliot. The Dallas defense hasn't been able to stop anyone.
