NFL Sunday - Jets at Patriots, 1 p.m.

Pick: Jets +13.5

Full disclosure time here: the NFL Degenerate is a Pats fan from way back . . . as in the AFL days. He even has Jim Plunkett’s autograph from the summer they had training camp in his hometown. But he also knows a fading dynasty when he sees it. The defense has rebounded after 34-10 debacle at Tennessee to give up 17 ppg over last five (34 of which came at Miami), but offense has averaged just 23 ppg during that stretch. Pats have guaranteed first-round bye as motivation and will be 8-0 at home by the time this one’s done. But Jets are averaging just under 30 ppg over last four games. With Josh McCown at QB, they were a 4th-and-goal incompletion from covering vs Pats last month; with Sam Darnold continuing to develop, I'm guessing they score enough to cover the big number against defense that’s tied for next-to-last in league in sacks.
