The College Football Semifinals are officially here, and we have two incredible matchups leading up to the National Championship on January 19th. There were some stinkers in the quarterfinals by way of blowouts, but we’re confident that this week’s action is going to provide a lot of entertainment and excitement.
We’ve got you covered with Underdog player props from both games, including Friday night’s matchup between Oregon and Indiana. Similarly to Miami, Indiana is a 3.5-point favorite in this game, which means oddsmakers believe this is going to be a close one.
It might not be projected to be as high scoring a game as Thursday night’s contest, but we’re looking forward to it, nonetheless. Let’s get to it!
Fernando Mendoza didn’t need to throw for a ton of yards to beat Alabama in the quarterfinals. In fact, he left the game early due to it being a blowout, still managing to pass for 192 yards and three touchdowns in the process.
We don’t think it’s going to be as easy a game for him and Indiana’s offense, and with that in mind, he’s going to need to throw for 220 yards, at minimum, for his team to have a chance in this one.
Oregon does have the second-best passing defense in the country from a per-game perspective, but that shouldn’t stop Mendoza, the Heisman winner who’s looking to cap his historic season with a National Championship.
While we’re excited about Mendoza in this game, we’re less thrilled about Dante Moore. Moore put up solid performances in each of Oregon’s playoff games to this point, but he hasn’t faced a team like Indiana yet.
Mendoza is willing to go toe-to-toe if it means putting his team on top, and Moore might not be ready for a matchup like that. He’s gone over 219 yards in his past five games, but we’re actually fading him here due to the matchup.
Even if Moore ends up having a great passing performance, it’s anyone’s best guess as to who will be the recipient of most of his passes. Malik Benson leads the team in yards, but it’s tight end Kenyon Saddiq who leads the team in targets.
Because of this two-headed approach, there’s no clear path to a monster receiving game, so we’re going against Benson’s receiving line here.
