The College Football Playoff is officially here! The 12-team format that people clamored for had its debut last season, and the early rounds were mostly filled with blowouts and games that weren’t that exciting. That could be the case again this year, but we’re excited to watch most of them play out and see if there will be any upsets.
One such matchup is Tulane vs. Ole Miss, a game that has Ole Miss as 17.5-point favorites with an over/under of 56.5. We think this could be closer than some people think, as Tulane could give this powerhouse a run for its money. With that in mind, let’s get into our top player props from this one, hoping to sweep the board from the get-go!

If you look at the raw numbers, it might be easy to just automatically take the under on Jake Retzlaff’s passing numbers for this daunting matchup. Ole Miss allowed less than 200 passing yards per game during the regular season, which doesn’t bode well for players on any team to hit their over.
However, we expect Ole Miss to get out to an early lead and for Tulane to play catch-up, which could lend itself to a big game from Retzlaff, especially if Trinidad Chambliss is slinging the rock on the other side of the field. With an over/under so high, don’t overthink Retzlaff here.
We emphatically took the over on Retzlaff’s line, and we’re doing the same for Trinidad Chambliss. Chambliss threw for over 3,000 yards during the regular season and rose to the occasion in noteworthy games.
He had 314 passing yards against No. 4-ranked LSU, 263 against No. 9 Georgia, and 315 against No. 13 Oklahoma. If Chambliss could put up numbers against some of the best teams in the country, we do not doubt that he can put together an impressive game against Tunale.
We knew we wanted to pair a receiving threat alongside Chambliss, since we are taking his over, and Harrison Wallace’s line was too juicy to pass up.
Wallace has been Ole Miss’s leading receiver by a wide margin this year, and they’ll need him to bring his A-game if they want to put their foot down in this one. He’s had 65+ receiving yards in three straight games, and that trend should continue to start the College Football Playoff on the right foot.
