Week 10 of the college football season is upon us, and there are a lot of good games on the calendar over the next few days. This is the time of the season when contenders show that they’re a viable candidate to win it all, and where pretenders can fall out of it, especially when they face upper-echelon opponents.
We’re looking forward to seeing how things play out between No. 17 Cincinnati and No. 24 Utah for this very reason. Both teams have been solid all year, and with a primetime game on Saturday evening, they have a chance to show the country why they’re worthy of a top-25 selection, perhaps allowing themselves to move up in the ranks.
With all of that in mind, let’s get into our top player prop selections from Underdog, hoping to sweep the board!
Brendan Sorsby has been dealing this season, hitting well over this line in five games. He had a massive 333-yard game against Bowling Green and put up an impressive 284 yards on Oklahoma State.
Despite his strong outings this year, we’re actually fading him against Utah, as they have the fourth-best passing defense in the country, allowing less than 150 yards per game.
The over/under is high in this one, set at 55.5, but we think a lot of those points are going to come from Utah, so we’re fading Sorsby’s total as a result.
Wayshawn Parker has been a tough player to figure out this season. He’s popped in some games, putting up 145 rushing yards against Colorado and 80 against Wyoming, but he’s also struggled at times, only having 23 rushing yards against BYU.
However, Cincinnati’s defense is nowhere close to BYU’s, and we think he’s going to have a field day on the ground. Cincinnati is allowing over 150 rushing yards per game, and if Utah gets up early, it could be the Parker show in the fourth quarter, giving him plenty of time to have at least 52 yards.
While we’re confident in Parker to hit the over on his rushing line, we also think that a lot of those yards could come in the second half. Utah should be more pass-friendly in the first half, and who better to throw the ball to than Ryan Davis?
Davis is their clear WR1, having 18 more receptions than their next closest pass-catcher, and he should feast early and often in this one. Look for Davis to have a few big catches early and hit the over in this spot by the end of the third quarter, if not sooner.
