Who’s ready for some college football? Another fall Saturday morning is here, which means that we have a massive day of college football action upon us. There aren’t many ranked matchups on the slate, but there are several games that should provide plenty of excitement and drama.
After taking a good look at every game and studying Underdog’s board of player props, we’ve paired down our list and have come up with our favorites, which are seen below. As we have done every week this year, we try to target games that feature at least one ranked opponent.
We went 1-2 last week after some bad luck, so let’s change the tides and sweep the board on Saturday!
USC at Michigan - 3:30 PM EDT
Miller Moss was fantastic in USC’s win last week against LSU. He put up nearly 400 yards through the air in a back-and-forth battle, an indication that he can hang with the best of them.
Moss does face a tough defense in Michigan this week, but we believe he has the talent to break through and have another monster week. Michigan did give up 240 yards to Quinn Ewers two weeks ago, and there’s a chance that Moss has an even better game than that.
Ewers wasn’t needed for that whole game due to the team’s big lead, but we expect this battle to be much closer. With that in mind, we’re taking the over on Moss’ passing yardage total.
Utah at Ok State - 4:00 PM EDT
Micah Bernard is an absolute beast. The Utah back rushed for 118 yards against Baylor two weeks ago and put up 123 against Utah State last week.
He’s averaging nearly seven yards per carry on the year, and his opponents can’t seem to stop him, no matter what they do. Oklahoma State might throw the kitchen sink at him this week, but unless they put a Mack truck down, they will still likely allow over 82 yards to Bernard.
He’s a hard-nosed back who’s the focal point of Utah’s offense, and that trend should continue in this one.
Tennessee at Oklahoma - 7:30 PM EDT
It might seem risky to fade a player who’s coming off a seven-catch, 80-yard game, but let us explain. Burks had an unusually strong game against Tulane last week, averaging 11.4 yards per reception.
He only averaged 5.95 YPC in his two previous games combined, giving us a lack of confidence that he can perform well again this week.
The Oklahoma receiver might get some decent looks against No. 6 ranked Tennessee, but not enough for us to take the over in this spot. Look for him to regress closer to his season-long mean, going under on his yardage prop.
