It is going to be a battle of the Wildcats in Manhattan, Kansas on Friday night. The #20 Arizona Wildcats take on the #14 Kansas State Wildcats in a ranked battle on a rare Friday night game.
Arizona (2-0) had a rougher time against Northern Arizona in week two than they did in week one against New Mexico. After defeating New Mexico 61-39, they found themselves trailing 10-6 at the half.
Luckily, they found their footing in the 2nd half and shut out Northern Arizona while putting up 16 points of their own to take the 22-10 victory. Still, even in the win, Arizona was 0/10 on 3rd down which is going to be a concern heading into this top 25 matchup.
Similarly, Kansas State had a tougher week two task than they did in week one. They took home a 41-6 win over Tennessee Martin to open the season but had to fight Tulane tough to get their 2nd win.
They trailed 20-10 at the break and fought back to tie things at 27 in the 4th. Darian Mensah fumbled the ball for Tulane and Jack Fabris picked it up and returned it for a 60-yard touchdown that was all the difference.
Turnovers were the difference in the game as they forced 2 from Tulane while not committing one of their own. The Wildcats were held to just 2/10 on 3rd down and without the turnovers, they would not have come out on top.
Arizona ran for nearly 200 yards on the ground in both of their victories. Here, they face a Kansas State team who just gave up 215 yards on the ground to Tulane.
If Arizona can have anywhere near the same success on the ground Friday night, they should be able to stay within the touchdown spread that KSU is giving up.
We like them to pound the rock in this one and avoid the turnovers that KSU needed to win the Tulane game. Take the points with confidence!
Arizona is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games.
Arizona is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games on the road.
KSU is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games.
KSU is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games played on a Friday.
