Fats on the SWAC 0-2, -$22.

These oddsmakers are geniuses. Even in a league like the SWAC, their lines give you heartburn. In my two Saturday wagers I had Southern giving 11 1/2 over Alabama A&M and Alcorn St. vs. Arkansas Pine Bluff Under 136 1/2. After the first 10 minutes of the second game it didn't look like the game was going to reach 50 and I mentally tossed it into the L column. It ended 70-64 = 134 for a 3 point miss. Southern, meanwhile, led by low-double digits for most of the game and won 73-64, another 3 point miss.

Monday night in the SWAC:

Alcorn St. at Mississippi Valley St, 8:30 pm EST.

Mississippi Valley St. +9 1/2, -110, $11 to win $10.

The MVSU Delta Devils are 1-19 and have not won a game at home this season. Fun fact: They're 0-6 in SWAC play at home, but have not lost one of those games by more than 9 points. Alcorn St. is better than the typical SWAC team, but a trend is a trend.

Jackson St. at Arkansas Pine Bluff, 8:30 pm EST

Arkansas Pine Bluff +4 1/2, -110, $11 to win $10.

Jackson St. is the better team and was playing much better earlier in the season, but the Tigers have been smacked by injuries and are on the second game of a road trip. Jackson St. could win by 20, but APB hung with Alcorn St. at home, and I think they play tough again. If you can get better than +170 on the moneyline, I might take a flier on an upset.

Alabama A&M at Grambling, 9 pm EST

Grambling -5, -110, $11 to win $10.

Grambling had won five in a row before being upset by Alabama St. at home on Saturday. At 6-3, they're in the think of the SWAC race and should play better tonight against an Alabama A&M team that's lost five of six.
