O'Sullivan's Sunday ACC Picks: South Carolina vs Florida State, Purdue vs NC State, Virginia Tech at Dayton

South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida State Seminoles, 12 pm Eastern, Purdue Boilermakers vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack, 2 pm, Virginia Tech Hokies at Dayton Flyers, 2 pm.

Seattle O’Sullivan 2021-2022 ACC season so far: 11-16, -$160.28

Seattle O’Sullivan 2021-2022 Ivy League season so far: 15-14, +$36.74

South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Florida State Seminoles, 12 pm Eastern

The Pick: over 137.5 (-110), bet $11 to win $10

Florida State travels to Rock Hill, South Carolina, to take on the Gamecocks. South Carolina has scored at least 80 points in two of its last four, while the Seminoles average 72.4. South Carolina is 52nd in adjusted tempo while Florida State is 67th in adjusted offense. I think FSU takes advantage of the increased pace, and this game is a shootout.

Purdue Boilermakers vs. North Carolina State Wolfpack, 2 pm Eastern

The Pick: over 142.5 (-110), bet $11 to win $10

Purdue is going to lose its number-one ranking after getting stunned by Rutgers on Thursday, and now they go up against an N.C. State team that throws up 78.2 points per game. The Boilermakers average 88, and I think they’ll be gunning to show that they still deserve that top spot. Today’s game is in Brooklyn, home of the Nets, and another reason both teams will want to show their best. The Wolfpack are a solid team, and Purdue is a good team, and this will be a(nother) shootout.

Virginia Tech Hokies at Dayton Flyers, 2 pm Eastern

The Pick: over 127.5 (-110), bet $11 to win $10

Maybe this game won’t be (yet) a(nother) shootout, but the total is low, here. Both Virginia Tech and Dayton average 71.6 points per game, and although both hold the other team to more than seven points below that, those offense totals are way above the 127.5 total. The Hokies have a pretty good defense, in fact, but their adjusted offense per Pomeroy is 110.1, good for 32nd in the country. The main worry is Dayton’s tempo, which is slow - but again, the total is only 127.5. I think it’s just too low.
