Kern isn't messing around — he picks, not teases: Iowa vs Minnesota, Ohio State vs Purdue, Providence vs Butler, and Seton Hall vs Marquette

I don’t know how teams are going to react to playing games in empty arenas, so please realize that it could possibly make a real difference. How that impacts what happens and how you wager on that is up to you. I would lay a little low, but that’s me.

That being said, here’s a few plays for today. And I’m not using teasers for a change. Whether that’s good or whatever, we’ll see.

In the Big Ten, I’ll try Iowa giving 1.5 to Minnesota in Indianapolis. The Hawkeyes won both regular-season meetings, which doesn’t always mean they’re going to win a third. And they have the guy who might be the Player of the Year. I just think they’re the better team, and I’m not laying very much at all. Hope that’s enough.

In that same conference, I’m going with Ohio State giving 1.5 to Purdue. Again, just think the Buckeyes are better, and the line ain’t much. Purdue has lost five of its last seven, Bucks have won nine of 12. So give me some of that.

In the Big East, I’m taking Providence getting 1 against Butler, in what should be a really good matchup. But Butler has split its last 10 games, after being a Top 10 team. Providence has won its last six, and six of the last eight meetings between these two. I’ll buy.

Also in the Big East, I’ll try Seton Hall minus 3 over Marquette. Both teams have a great player. But Marquette has not played well down the stretch. Seton Hall lost its last two games, to Villanova and at Creighton. I think they’re going to come up with a big effort here. Or at least enough to get the job done in this spot.
