Mike Kern doesn't like Duke vs North Carolina St. or Baylor vs Texas Tech, but he can't help himself

Only two games out there tonight that have any interest for me, and I’m not really sure I want to get involved in either of them.

Duke has lost three of its last four games, a slide that began at North Carolina State two weeks back. Now Duke is hosting the Wolfpack as the first half of Big Monday, and laying 12.5 points. That sure seems like a lot, but maybe the Devils are just due for one of THOSE games. At this point who really knows. I don’t think they’re going to lose, especially at home, but giving nearly two touchdowns isn’t that appealing to me. And even if you tease them you’re only getting it down to 7.5, which is better but certainly no guarantee.

Then there’s Baylor, which has dropped two of its last three, at home giving 7.5 to Texas Tech, which it beat at Tech by five in early January in a low-scoring game. The over-under is 130. The total of the first meeting was 109. So maybe that’s the way to go. I don’t think Baylor will lose again, and I could tease the Bears down to 2.5. I just have to find something to go with it. Details.

My best advice would probably be to just stay away. But I know some of us can’t do that, even if it’s just a little something that we need to have riding. In that case I would move Baylor to -2.5 and reluctantly move N.C. State to +18.5 and hope that the Pack can just keep it reasonably competitive. I wish I had more for you than that, or was really confident about moving it either way in the Duke matchup. But this is as far as I’ll go. Which means it’ll win going away. Welcome to my world. Hope you find something that works for you.
