Might as well face it, Kern's addicted to teasers: Indiana vs Minnesota, Michigan vs Rutgers, Villanova vs DePaul, and Butler vs Seton Hall

Yo, if nothing else I handed out the Flyers last night, in what might have been my first hockey bet ever. OK, maybe the second. How about that? Never hurts to multi-task. Can’t wait for the right opportunity to make another one.

But back to the college hoops …

We’ll try a couple of teasers, cause as you know by now I’m addicted to them. Call it a character flaw.

In the Big Ten, let’s try Minnesota at home as a pick-em against Indiana. Two teams that are 6-8 in conference play, looking to make a late move. The home teams have been fairly dominant in this conference, and Indy has lost four of its seven road games by double digits. And we’ll pair that with Rutgers getting 4 against visiting Michigan. The Knights haven’t lost at home. But they did lose by five at Michigan to start this month. And the Wolves have won three straight. But I’m going to take a shot that at worst the game will come down to the wire and the Knights can cover a field goal. We’ll see. That’s why they call them teasers. Heck, you could just play them and lay the point.

In the Big East we’ll go after another two-teamer. Let’s try Villanova getting 1 at DePaul. I know the Wildcats haven’t been all that lately, and DePaul only lost by four at Nova in mid-January. DePaul is 9-6 in Chicago, but has lost seven in a row. So I’ll take a chance that the Wildcats can at least find a way to win. But it probably won’t be easy. Then we’ll play Seton Hall to win against Butler at home. Seton Hall won by eight at Butler last month. Butler has lost three of its last five. Seton Hall has lost its last two. I think it’s time for the Pirates to at least get a W. Of course knowing me I’ll probably end up wishing I had teased the other way and taken Butler and Marquette. Or maybe the bookies will be close to right and both will cover. Don’t you just love this stuff. You can almost make it anything you want.
