NCAAB MAAC game pick of the day from Eckel: Saint Peter's vs Fairfield

Let’s go with the hottest team in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in a revenge game.

When St. Peter’s (12-11, 9-5) lost at Fairfield (10-14, 6-7) earlier in the season it dropped the Peacocks to 5-9 overall and 2-3 in the MAAC. Since then the Peacocks are 7-2 and have surged to the top of the conference standings.

Second-year head coach Shaheen Holloway, the former Seton Hall star and assistant coach, has started 12 different players this season and has no one scoring more than 8.3 points per game in what is truly a team effort.

Playing at home Sunday, look for St. Peter’s two prize freshmen — Daryl Banks III, out of The Patrick School and Doug Edert, out of Bergen Catholic — to lead the Peacocks to an easy win.
