NCAAB: Tuesday Teaser needs St. Joe’s D & Michigan to be Michigan

St. Bonaventure +1.5 @ ST. JOSEPH’S (134) 6:30 pm.; Michigan -6.5 @ PENN ST. (128.5), 8:30 pm

Lehigh let me down in the Monday Teaser, laying an egg against Bucknell, but you can’t win if you don’t play so we’re looking to another local team tonight. St. Bonaventure +1.5 @ ST. JOSEPH’S (134) 6:30 pm. Unfortunately, this is a tough game. The Hawks (11-13, 4-7) fired on all cylinders Friday in crushing St. Louis, while the Bonnies (9-14, 5-5) got drubbed by a solid VCU team at home. The Bonnies beat the Hawks at home by 26 on Jan. 9, and we certainly don’t see a repeat of that, but these 4 to 6 point lines with the teaser are the betting range that always makes us nervous. That said, we’re going to add the 5 points to the Over/Under and hope for a tight, poor-shooting, defensive-minded Hawks win. We’ll pair that up with Michigan -6.5 @ PENN ST. (128.5), 8:30 pm. The Wolverines (22-2, 11-2) are a beast of a team -- Top 40 in offense, Top 5 in defense -- and their only two road losses are to Top 25 teams. The Nittany Lions (8-15, 1-11) are struggling, but they do have a lot of close losses under their belts. So there’s three ways to go with this game -- take Michigan -1.5 and assume they’ll win by at least two, take Penn St. +11.5 and assume they’ll keep it under double digits or drop the O/U to 123.5 and hope for a 65-60 game. The most likely outcome to me is that Michigan wins by at least two -- it’s happened in every one of their 22 wins -- so that’s the way I’m going
Pick: St. Bonaventure vs. ST. JOSEPH’S Under 139 with Michigan -1.5 Over PENN STATE.
