NCAAB: Wednesday Teaser likes Owls, Wildcats, not Huskies, Rams

UCONN +3.5 @ TEMPLE (146), 6 pm. This could be one of those cases where we make the right pick, but the game ends up wrong. Temple (16-6, 6-3) has five Top 100 wins and is ranked No. 76 in the Pomeroys. UCONN (13-9, 4-5) has one Top 100 win (back on Nov. 15) and is ranked No. 73. And Temple played a tougher non-conference schedule. AND UCONN hasn’t won an away road game all season (they did win once on a neutral court). So all the signs point to the Owls which . . . is concerning. But logic says to give them the Teaser 5 and take Temple +1.5. Rhode Island +4 @ DAVIDSON (137), 7 pm. The Davidson Wildcats (16-5, 7-1) have won four in a row, seven of eight and haven’t lost at home. Rhode Island (12-9, 5-4) has lost its last two road games -- to teams far worse than Davidson and don’t have a straight road win against a Top 200 team. Davidson +1 seems like a gift so we’re going to take it and unwrap it and hope it fits.
