NCAAB: Saturday Teaser to Show off Our Wolf Pack Pride

Northeastern + 7.5 @ HOFSTRA 4 pm; Nevada -14.5 @ NEW MEXICO 8 pm

Hofstra (12-3) has won nine in a row and hasn’t lost at home. Northeastern (7-7) is coming off a 2OT loss to a Delaware squad that lost at Hofstra by 45 a little more than a week ago. Northeastern has to play better, but the Pride has been proud - we’ll give them the 5 teaser points and like them very much -2.5.

Nevada (14-0) opens league play at The Pit against a New Mexico (7-6) team which just isn’t that good. Yes, The Pit is a TOUGH place to play and the fans will be jacked up for a BIG upset, but the Lobos already have four home losses this season, including back-to-back defeats to North Texas and Penn. They also have no Top 100 wins. Top 10 Nevada has six. We’re going to take our five points off the Wolf Pack give and make them -9.5.

Pick: HOFSTRA -2.5 over Northeastern paired with Nevada -9.5 @ NEW MEXICO.

We would have loved to get in on today’s 5 pm Penn-Princeton match-up at Jadwin Gym, but Myles Stephens and Will Gladson have been out for the Tigers and the Quakers have played the last two games without 2/3 of their frontcourt. Before that, Penn was rolling (wins over Villanova and Miami) and Princeton was struggling. Now, Princeton is coming off a huge upset at Arizona St. and Penn is coming off a loss to then-winless Monmouth and a blowout at Toledo. Not knowing who’s able to play and how able they are, make this too tough to call.
