For the second time in just over a week, the Phoenix Suns (35-40) will face off against the Milwaukee Bucks (40-34) in a battle of teams desperate for a win.
Phoenix is one game out of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Suns are trailing the Dallas Mavericks and the Sacramento Kings in this postseason race, needing a win to snap their current three-game losing streak.
Milwaukee came out of the NBA All-Star break strong, but their recent contests have sent the Bucks crashing down to Earth. The Eastern Conference franchise is just 4-9 in its past 13 games, and Milwaukee is looking to snap its current four-game losing streak.
Will the Suns or Bucks end their losing ways in a rematch of this March 24th game? We’ll cover that and provide our three favorite player prop bets for Tuesday’s NBA contest between Phoenix and Milwaukee.
Milwaukee is once again looking to 11-year veteran Giannis Antetokounmpo to lead the team to postseason glory. The 6-foot-11 player is averaging 30.2 points and 11.9 rebounds per contest, stats that rank among the top six in the NBA this year. He’s also averaging 5.9
While the Bucks struggled in March, Antetokounmpo did not. He rebounded from a poor February to post 28.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game. Still, he achieved only 49 or more combined points, rebounds, and assists in five outings.
Antetokounmpo failed to achieve that mark against the Suns, finishing with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in the loss. Still, he’s statistically better at home, and bettors should take the over as the power forward will pace his team with at least 49 combined points, rebounds, and assists in Tuesday’s game.
Phoenix may rely on Kevin Durant for much of its scoring, but shooting guard Devin Booker has been among the most reliable players for the Suns. The 6-foot-6 guard is averaging 25.3 points and 7.0 assists per game, numbers that are both in the NBA’s top 10 averages for the 2024-2025 season.
March was the worst scoring stretch Booker has had this year after the guard scored 28 or more points in three of the team’s 15 contests last month. That track record suggests bettors should take the under on Booker’s player prop scoring bet.
Although Bucks shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. isn’t a household name, the six-year veteran is a productive Milwaukee reserve. The guard is averaging over 25 minutes per game, scoring 11.1 points and grabbing 2.3 rebounds per contest. His specialty is the three-point shot, and he’s connecting on a career-best 41.8 percent of those shots this season.
After hitting more than three or more trifectas for five straight games, the Atlanta Hawks shut down Trent on Sunday. The 6-foot-5 guard went 1-of-6 from behind the arc, his worst shooting performance in March. Expect Trent to rebound in a big way against Phoenix, hitting at least three treys to cover this player prop bet.
Milwaukee indeed should be the better team, but it’s hard to take the Bucks covering the 5.5-point spread with any confidence. Both teams can move up in their respective standings with a strong finish, eliminating the thought that either Milwaukee or Phoenix would lack motivation in this contest.
The safer bet is to take the over on this NBA contest. Although both teams have struggled to win, each team is scoring over the century mark in their past six contests. Combined, the two teams are hitting over 230 points in those outings. Take the over on the total points despite their previous contest finishing with just 214 total points.
