The Pick: Memphis +10.5 (-110), bet $22 to win $20
Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins says that Ja Morant is “likely” out for Game 4, due to a knee injury suffered in Game 3 when Jordan Poole pulled at his kneecap. I believe Morant will play, but even if he doesn’t, 10.5 is way too many points even after Golden State blew the Grizzlies out on Saturday, 142-112. This series has been chippy and physical, with each team having players committing, er, “questionable” fouls, but it’s been hard-fought and I don’t think Jenkins is above a little gamesmanship going into tonight. Besides, Memphis has proven they can play, and win, without Morant. This season they went 20-4 without the superstar - 20-4! They’ll have Dillon Brooks back from suspension, and they know that if they lose tonight the series is most likely over. A double-digit spread to a team that’s the second seed is too much. Tonight’s game will be close.
