New York Knicks at Charlotte Hornets, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Charlotte -275, bet $68.75 to win $25; Charlotte -6.5, bet $11 to win $10
Charlotte is battling to make sure they’re in the play-in games this coming Playoffs; New York is six games out of a playoff spot and have to know it’s over. Also, the Knicks played last night. Now, going on the road for a back-to-back hasn’t been bad for New York this season (6-3 against the spread), I just don’t see them getting up for this game while the Hornets need each and every last victory. I’m going to put a chunk up on the Charlotte moneyline, but I’ll put a taste on the Hornets covering the 6.5 too. The Hornets have to let it all hang out, while the Knicks are just playing out the string.
Sacramento Kings at Indiana Pacers, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Indiana -230, bet $46 to win $20; Indiana -6 (-110), bet $11 to win $10
Tyrese Haliburton Revenge Game! Though he’s listed as day-to-day, I believe ex-King Haliburton will play tonight, and be amped to put up a good performance against his former team. Haliburton is remarkable in the sense that he was actually upset to be traded from Sacramento. The main player he was traded for, Domantas Sabonis, is out with a knee injury, and the Kings are once again headed for the Draft Lottery. Not that the Pacers are headed somewhere else; they’ll be waiting on ping-pong balls just like the Kings. But Indiana’s at home, where they’re a respectable 16-20 (okay, it’s not respectable but not horrible). Sacramento, on the other hand, is 9-25 on the road. They’ve lost seven of eight, and I think even that one win, against Phoenix in overtime, will cause them to relax tonight.
