Detroit Pistons at Orlando Magic, 7 pm Eastern
The Pick: Orlando -3.5, bet $11 to win $10
I’ll put just a small play on Orlando because these are two teams who genuinely don’t want to be winning too many ballgames right around now. The Magic and the Pistons are both angling for draft position. That being said, Orlando has been a bit frisky lately - that is, before they lost by 42 to Brooklyn. Still, they did beat the Timberwolves on March 11 and at New Orleans on March 9. Also, though it’s a rare situation, the Magic do take care of business when they’re favorites at home: 3-1 against the spread as a favorite in Orlando. Detroit’s star rookie Cade Cunningham is day-to-day with an illness, and scorer Jerami Grant is out with a knee injury. No doubt Detroit is fine with that; again, it’s all about lottery positioning as we come into the regular season’s home stretch.
